New Book Announcement
Shortly after I published the book "Biblical Minimalism," the Lord began to lay it on my heart to write a correlating Bible Study Accompaniment Guide - a workbook with pointed questions to encourage readers to personalize the Scriptural truths in the book in a practical way, search their hearts and lives, identify problem areas, and find solutions in Scripture to correct, minimize, and eliminate all that is hindering them from living a holy life.
A few months ago, I began to feel an urgency to complete this project, so I took a pause from editing Homespun Devotions: Volume Four to focus my energy on the workbook. I am thrilled to announce that I am nearing the finish line and am almost done! All glory to God! I hope to have it available for purchase within the next few weeks, Lord willing! I would greatly appreciate your prayers, as it is my heart's desire that every soul who reads these books be drawn closer to Jesus and the way He lived His earthly life.

A Tribute
Our hearts remain so broken over the loss of the spiritual giant, Christian hero, and martyr, Charlie Kirk. He was such a warrior of the cross and defender of the faith. We still can't believe he is gone. He has been such a huge Godly example and motivator to Zach over the past many years. Zach literally grew up under Charlie's influence, and Charlie's death has hit him hard. I pray so hard for Zach, his friends, and all of his generation who so desperately need shining Christian examples like Charlie. I pray that they will pick up the mantle of truth and carry it on with more determination in their hearts to live for Jesus than ever before. I am deeply moved to see the amazing revival that is sweeping over our land. It pains me to know it took Charlie's death to ignite it, but I am so thankful to know that his death is not in vain. May God bless his wife and precious children with enduring comfort during this time of grief and in the years to come.
And may the Lord richly bless each one of you who are mourning Charlie's death in these dark and troubled days. The darker the world around us, the brighter our lights can shine for our dear Lord Jesus.
"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21
The Signs of the Times
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28
"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you." John 15:18
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, 'Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.'" John 12:24
"And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them." Revelation 20:9
It certainly feels like evil is encompassing "the camp of the saints," doesn't it? I have never fought the level of intense spiritual warfare that I am fighting lately. I feel with all my heart that Jesus is surely coming soon. I am so looking forward to the day He splits those clouds wide open and comes back for His own!
"He which testifieth these things saith, 'Surely I come quickly. Amen.' Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Revelation 22:20
He is coming back—just like He said! Scoffers are scoffing. Sneerers are sneering. Some have even bought into the dark heresy that Jesus already came back years ago! I had never heard of that heretical belief until recently, and it brought such a horrific, dark, hopeless feeling over my spirit! When you feel that level of darkness engulf you after hearing something, you know without a shadow of a doubt that it is not of God, and it is evil and against Scripture. God's truth never brings a feeling of darkness and hopelessness. Peace is a very reliable umpire. When I heard this heresy and felt that awful, enshrouding darkness, I immediately sat down and refuted it with multiple Scriptures in a matter of minutes. Proof also lies in the fact that Revelation wasn't even written until around 95 A.D., which is 25 years after the date the heresy claims Jesus returned!
We were warned repeatedly, in God's Word, about the awful false doctrines that would be presented in these last days, so I'm not sure why I was so surprised to hear such misinterpretation and deception. Thank God for knowing the truth and for proper interpretation of His Word, and for being firmly rooted in it. The enemy has gone forth to deceive in every way he can, and we must continually be on guard against him, strongly rebuking him and his heresies in Jesus' name. None of us is above falling into deception, and we must remain alert and selective of what we listen to and watch, and who we associate with and allow to influence us.
"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." I Corinthians 10:12
"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24
"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." 2 Timothy 3:13-15
"Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness." 2 Peter 3:14-17
I pray we all take courage, stand firm, and "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" as Jesus' brother, Jude, instructed us in Jude 1:3
If those in the great cloud of witnesses spoken about in Hebrews 12:1 could make it through, so can we! Here is a song I wrote that reminds me of them.
God be with you, dear readers. Hold fast to the truths you have been taught. Keep the faith. Press on. Lean into Jesus more than you ever have before. Dig deep into His Word to arm yourself against deception and heresy. Seek to emulate Him in all you do. Deny yourself. Take up your cross daily. Follow Him. Be faithful to your final breath, and He will give you a crown of life. Don't give up. We are almost home!
How I love that song, Cheryl! Yes, our hearts have been heavy with the loss of Charlie, but like you, I'm blown away with the surge we're witnessing not just in this country but throughout the world of young people returning to the church and to the love of Jesus. Please tell Zach we share in his grief at Charlie's untimely passing, but we know he didn't die in vain. Also, could you keep Danny in prayer? He is currently undergoing a third heart ablation as I type this. His son is with him at the hospital. Please pray for a successful procedure, for his doctors and nurses and for God's protection over them all. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteOh, dear friend! Praying for Danny right now as I type this! Please let me know how he is doing when you are able. Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so thankful you love the song. I will relay your message to Zach. Shared sorrow lessens the pain in a time like this. Sending much love and hugs to you. Please try not to worry. Will keep praying!
