Urgent Prayer Request

Please pray for my nephew, Shawn Baird, who is going through more pain and suffering than I can even imagine right now. Shawn and I have always had a special bond because Mom and my sister, Sharon, were expecting us at the same time.

Sharon gave birth to Shawn just 34 days before Mom gave birth to me. So, I was an aunt when I was born. When Shawn and I went to school together and I told kids that I was Shawn's aunt, they never believed me. They thought we were cousins since we were so close in age. Growing up, Shawn and his three siblings were more like siblings to me than nieces and nephews. We spent so many wonderful times together and made so many precious memories through the years.

Today, Shawn is in a hospice facility, fighting an extremely hard battle with cancer. I would deeply appreciate it if you could please add his name to your prayer lists and ask every prayer warrior you know to pray for Shawn, Sharon, Shawn's sisters, all of his children and grandchildren, and all who are walking through this difficult time. (Shawn's brother, Brian, passed away in 2020. You may remember reading the prayer requests and posts I shared here up to and after his death.)
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Shawn's family as they plan for the days to come. If you feel led to contribute, please click here.

Thank you so much for your prayers. I know God is still on the throne. Doctors do not have the final say. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8). I am still praying and hoping for a miracle.

May God bless each one of you.

  6. Dearest Ceryl,
I so love to come and visit you here, it's always such a blessing to me to keep our beautiful bond alive.
But what I read made me feel so sad. Yours is truly a special love, you're not nephew and aunt, but rather brother and sister!
I'm keeping him in my prayers and you, of course, together with all your dear ones, trusting in the immeasurable mercy of the Lord.
    Blessings to you
