"I have read all 4 of Cheryl's books, and have loved the way that she speaks straight to the heart in her writing. Her latest book, the 3rd in her series of daily devotionals, has a new surprise added. She has included a favorite family recipe at the end of each chapter! I can honestly say that this book has made me wish, more than ever, that I could sit down in Cheryl's kitchen and have a sweet chat with her over a cup of tea. Her heartfelt wisdom shines through every page, especially in the chapter titled "When God Reinvents Us." She closes the chapter with her lovely poem "I Picked A Rosebud," that brought tears to my eyes. As I shared it with a long-distance friend, and it touched her as well, I immediately purchased a copy to be mailed to her too. I would encourage anyone longing for encouragement in their homes to pick up a copy of this devotional. I know you will be blessed." Bettie Gilbert
"I’m a foodie so I was thrilled that Cheryl had included one of her special recipes at the end of each chapter. But even much greater, heartwarming, and encouraging are the recipes for every day living that each chapter of this book brings to the spiritual table. Cheryl uses real life situations that are so easy to relate to, much like Jesus taught with parables. Clearly the main ingredient throughout Homespun Devotions Volume 3 is the precious truths of God’s Word. Life’s experiences and challenges are met head on, page after page, with Biblical guidance and reminders of God’s promises. I highly recommend Cheryl’s book as a daily devotional guide and as a lovely gift to encourage a friend!" Pam Richardson
"Cheryl is a devoted follower of Jesus. Reading this book is like sitting across the table with a wise and compassionate friend, listening, helping, and sharing the Christian life. You will be blessed by the content and by the warm, down home manner in which it’s written. Cheryl has truly walked the walk! Bonus recipes too!" Deborah Montgomery
"Cheryl Smith is back with number three of her Homepun Devotions series. The first two editions quickly became go-to quiet time companions, and if possible, I’m finding book three to be even more enriching and fulfilling. Cheryl’s writing is down to earth and spiritually refreshing. She’s the real deal and I’m happy to highly recommend this brand new book not only for your personal use but also to jump-start a family devotional time if that’s something your gang is lacking or has given up on." "Easy to read. Easy to connect with the author. Easy to feel God's hand in her writing. The addition of recipes is a bonus. I am reading this like a daily devotional--one chapter a day. You will be blessed. All Smith's books are great, but this one is my favorite by far." Amazon Customer
"I have all of Cheryl’s heartwarming books and this latest one just may be my favorite. Cheryl shares real life situations in each chapter and intersperses lessons and scripture from the Bible. Cheryl knows her Bible so very well and is a masterful, homespun storyteller, with a recipe from her collection, in each chapter. I love to cook and collect recipes and Cheryl’s recipes were an extra treat for me. I know you will love this book as much as I have and the book would make a great gift." Kitty's Kozy Kitchen
"Cheryl’s writing voice has been tended and nurtured by an obedient woman of God since the Lord put His passion in her when she was just a child. Her family is blessed and they know it. They’re our neighbors. We’re blessed, too. Although we live near each other and have enjoyed one another’s company, I know Cheryl mostly through her books. Since reading them, her family feels like my family and she’s my sweet sister. Although I’m older than Cheryl, her wisdom, drawn from an eternal and ageless fount, blesses me every time as the younger woman in Christ.
My first impression of Cheryl was, “this girl has a story to tell!” The impression was confirmed as she listed her dreams, including her blog, books, Bible Studies, music, friends, family, cooking, homemaking in general, and continuing to love the Lord with all her heart in this new place in the gentle foothills where the Lord had brought us. Her love of the Lord tumbles out of her every time we see each other and I’m so grateful to God, Who, in my personal crazy life, knows just who I need and in Tennessee it’s Cheryl.
The books Cheryl has authored echo words I’ve longed to pen to God and keep in my heart as another woman who strives after the Proverbs 31 ideal. These homespun devotions are bite sized reminders of how good God is and how we can know it. She’s included recipes enjoyed throughout her life and every one of them sounds so good to me.
Some of her struggles, or, rather, themes, relate to every woman alive, as well as her utter faith in the Lord Who is so faithful, that’s His recurring theme, why not hers?
The Lord has touched me as I’ve read and re-read her books, now volume three of Homespun Devotions.
I realized when I had one short devotion left in the book that I wanted it to last a little bit longer. I took the book and myself to the kitchen and tackled 2 of her recipes, one of which she shared with us this past Christmas, her Saltine Toffee, page 199. My husband and I went crazy over it and I was beyond excited to try it myself! I also made Graham Cracker Toffee, page 203 and my husband and I are happy campers. I plan to take some over to our grandchildren before we eat it all!
Thank you, Cheryl, for your steadfast loving kindness. I’m so glad we get to spend eternity together! Keep writing, girl!"

"Homespun Devotions Volume Three continues Cheryl’s teaching and stories, from embracing Biblical Minimalism to a quieter, more simple life focused on faith. I have read several of Cheryl’s other books and each page shares wisdom she has gleaned walking through life. While reading each chapter, I often feel like I’m sitting having a cup of tea and sharing life at her kitchen table. I have found that you can read one chapter at a time or several. Her style is welcoming and warm. One added bonus is that at the end of each chapter, Cheryl shares a family recipe. This book would be a gift for a young woman starting out in marriage or an older woman in the golden years.
Cheryl is a true Proverbs 31 woman." Noreen
