"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country." Proverbs 25:25
I long for the old days, don't you?
As I observe the fast-paced rat race around me, my heart literally yearns for the days of Papaw, born in 1900, and Mimmie, born in 1905. Times were worlds apart simpler then. God and family were top priority. Meals cooked and placed on kitchen tables by the hands of loving mothers were the daily norm. Families gathered around those tables to pray, eat together, laugh, and share their hearts. It kept them close—to God and to each other. Home remedies were used for common ailments, in place of expensive trips to doctors' offices. Children were given daily chores and kept busy with wholesome ways to fill their days and spend their time. Neighbors helped one another, and no one felt alone or abandoned. Times were hard, but people were tough, and their faith in God enabled them to withstand trials and difficulties. Communities were strong because residents pulled together and weren't afraid of hard work.
If anyone else longs for those long-ago days and ways, you will certainly want to read on!
Recently, our dear friend, Nacole, began a ministry that I am super excited about, and I couldn't wait to share it with all of you! The premise of this endeavor is absolutely genius and will help to fill a deep longing within all of us who yearn to hear about the old ways, receive regular letters from a sweet friend in our physical mailboxes, and learn about the daily lives of the characters who live on a picturesque country lane called Shepherd's Path.
Letters from the Countryside are beautiful stories told through letters and sent by mail, through a subscription. The letters are ongoing fictional stories that follow the lives of 6 people: Hannah Maybree the mother, Faith Maybree the 16 year old daughter of Hannah, Benjamin and Lilly Maybree, Hannah's 7 year old twins, their precious Aunt Sybil, who is 82, and Ellie Preston, who is a 26 year old dear friend of the Maybree family.
Readers will be immersed in the lives of the residents living within this community and are sure to be inspired and encouraged in their Christian faith, as they read, through the letters, about how the friends and family sharpen one another in Truth, learning that no matter what season of life they are in, they are to cling to the One, Who is able to carry them through.
Subscribers will receive two letters per month and are sure to feel as though they are walking along side by side, in friendship, with the characters. While reading about faith that is being stretched, refined, and strengthened, it is our prayer that these letters help to sharpen the faith of the reader. These letters will bring a sense of peace and nostalgia, as there is nothing like getting a special letter from a friend in the mailbox.
Subscriptions are processed within 1-3 business days. Please see our mailing schedule HERE, for our 2025 dates."
