In Loving Memory of My Dear Friend & Fellow Blogger

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints."
Psalm 116:15

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. I am still in shock over what I am getting ready to say. This morning I found out my dear friend and longtime fellow blogger, Ang, left this world to be with Jesus on Wednesday, 7/20/2022. She leaves behind a husband, four children, parents, and many other family members and loved ones.

Some of you may have known her or read her beautiful blog, Just A Country Girl.

Ang and I emailed one another often, and I knew when I didn't receive a reply to my last email that something was wrong. My concerns were confirmed this morning. She remained so hopeful that God would heal her on this side of eternity, but He had other plans. I know she is at peace and is resting with Jesus, free from the awful pain and suffering she had endured since her cancer diagnosis.

As I thought of her today, my mind went back to the day she first reached out to me all those years ago. I had published this blog post on October 27, 2012, and it really resonated with her. From the first time she emailed me to our last email a few weeks ago, we remained constant friends. Today, I found a tea container she sent to me a few years ago when I was very sick. I will never forget the package of goodies she had picked out and ordered for me in hopes of improving my health. She had even taken the time to write out instructions for me concerning the tea and recipes that she wanted me to try.

My heart is broken tonight. I have lost a very precious, kind, caring friend whom I deeply loved. I can only imagine the pain in the hearts of her husband, Eric; her sons, Tucker, Jethro, and Waylon; her little daughter, Clara; her parents and many other loved ones and friends.

Please pray for Ang's family, asking God to hold them extra close during this sad time of grief. A fund has been set up to cover the cost of Ang's funeral expenses. If you feel led and are able to contribute to this, please click here.

  7. Thank you sharing this in our Bible Study group. So many of our post are no longer showing up for others to see. I remember Ang telling me once that she and I had on the same shirt in several of our pictures. It was a REAL TREE camo shirt. LOL! So sad to hear but I know that she is rejoicing at the feet of Jesus. Praying for family. Hugs and blessings to you dear Cheryl and thank you for always praying for me and my family. Cindy

    1. I know, Cindy, it is so frustrating that people are not being notified when we publish a post. That is a sweet story about Ang and you wearing the same shirt. Bless her heart. She was so giving. I recall all the many times she would send me something in the mail. It always boosted my spirits so much, and she would often email me to check on my health issues, right while she was going through so much healthwise. A true friend she was. I am surely continuing to pray for you and your family, dear friend. God bless you.

  8. Oh Cheryl, my heart is hurting so much for her family right now. I was friends with Ang for many years, she was a faithful blogger and friend. I read her last post when she was doing monthly teas with her daughter, and how beautiful they were. I know she wanted her family to remember how much she loved them, even as she fought the terminal diagnosis of cancer in her life. I remember her getting married by Pastor Phil of the Duck Dynasty family, and how thrilled she was that her children had a wonderful father to care for them. I know she is in the presence of the Lord, resting and rejoicing, but my heart aches for her young children. I pray that they continue on the godly legacy she left them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful post about sweet Ang. I will miss her so much, but thankful she is without pain now!

    1. Yes, she always posted those tea parties with little Clara. I hope that precious little girl will look back on those posts one day and read them and remember those times with her dear, sweet mom. Yes, I remember her wanting me to meet her in LA so I could be there for her wedding at Phil Robertson's house. It didn't work out for me to be there with her, but I wanted to be. She will be sorely missed by so many, as she was deeply loved.

  10. I'm so sorry for your loss Cheryl. I did not have the pleasure and blessing of knowing Ang or interacting with her in the blogging world, but your beautiful testimony made me feel like I did. What a sweet soul.

Indeed, she is now with our Lord and Savior, no more tears and no more pain.

Praying God's comfort over you and all the lives she touched as well as her precious husband, children and family who she left behind. May you all be comforted by her life lived well for the Lord and the promise from that you will see her again.

    Sending you much love,
    Karen

  13. I just can't believe it. I didn't know Ang but often read her wonderful, insightful and uplifting blog posts. I loved seeing her sweet family and oh my goodness, the pain they must be suffering. While yes, we rejoice she is free and with our Savior, for those left behind in this world, the loss is unimaginable.

  14. Thank you Cheryl for all you have done and do. The kids are doing extremely well, very blessed! It still feels so surreal and terribly sad that my wife/best friend is no longer here. But, our God is good. I can't imagine going through this without Him. Blessed be our Lord.

    1. Eric! I was so thankful to see your comments today! I have thought of you and the kids so many, many times and wondered how you were doing, how you all got through Christmas, etc. It blessed me beyond words to find your blog today and be able to see those pictures and to know that you are carrying on those same special traditions that were so close to Ang's heart. I miss her so much and think of her often. Please keep in touch with me and let me know how y'all are doing, as you have time and are able. Sending blessings to all of you today.
