An Exciting Announcement!

" Delight thyself also in the LORD, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Psalm 37:4

Hello, everyone!

It feels rather strange to be writing a blog post, as it has been such a long time! I do apologize for my silence over the past few months, and I hope once you read this post, you will understand and pardon my absence. 😊

I come to you tonight with news that humbles me, brings me to tears, and compels me to fall on my knees in gratitude and worship to the dear Lord, as once again, He has made a long-term dream come true. I could never praise Him enough.

When I began this blog nearly ten years ago on October 1, 2011, my real dream was not to blog, but to write a book called Homespun Devotions. Over these years, the Lord has inspired me to write 800+ blog posts, and several months ago, He began to deal with my heart and lead me to pull most of those posts off the blog and start sorting through them to compile them into a series of books.

After many months of sorting, sifting, praying hard, editing, and seeking God's face every step of the way,

I am beyond excited to tell you that Homespun Devotions: Volume One is now published and ready to purchase!

I am so excited for you to read this new book, and oh, how I hope it will be a bright spot and bring encouragement to your hearts during these troubled, dark times!

As with our last book, Biblical Minimalism, our dear son, Zach did the cover design for us. The photo was taken by Racheal Cooper Photography, and the formatting was done by Kalen Bruce. I would like to pause right here and explain how God worked a miracle in bringing Kalen into our lives.

I was online one day looking up something to do with Biblical Minimalism, and I came across an article in which Kalen mentioned our other blog. I contacted him through his blog, and over the past several months, we have become friends. A few months ago, he and his wife and family happened to come through our area as they were traveling, and God blessed us to be able to meet and spend some time together. During our meal, I mentioned our new upcoming book to Kalen and told him what a difficult time I have with the technical parts of the formatting to upload to Amazon. Immediately, Kalen offered to do that part for me! To say I was relieved and so blessed by his offer is such an understatement. I could hardly believe it! That was the part I was dreading most and it was actually holding me back from wanting to finish the book. I just had such a hard time when it came to that point with Biblical Minimalism, even having to leave some slight errors unfixed, and I was surely not looking forward to going through that again. God knew, and He sent our dear friend Kalen along. If you have not checked out his blog, I hope you can go visit him. It is chock full of wisdom and amazing information. He also has a YouTube channel that you will definitely want to check out.

Many of you have already committed to promoting our new book, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! I have emailed all who are planning to help us get the word out, and we will be mailing your signed copy to you as soon as we receive them in the mail. Again, we are so grateful to you!

If anyone else who is reading this would like to join our marketing/promotion team, we would be so thrilled to have you come on board! If you are interested, please email us at homespundevotions@gmail.com to let us know, and we will mail you a signed copy of the book. All we ask in return is that you do the following for us:

1. Leave a review for us on Amazon. This is so important to the success of a new book. We would so appreciate anyone who would be willing to do this for us.

2. If you are a blogger - in addition to leaving a review for us on Amazon, do a blog post review, sharing about the book. Also, if you would like to do a giveaway on your blog, we will be happy to mail your winner a copy of the book!

3. If you are not a blogger - in addition to leaving a review for us on Amazon, share a link to our book on your social media.

That's it!

I am now hard at work completing Homespun Devotions: Volume Two! I'm not sure how many volumes there will end up being, but I will do my best to remain faithful to God's call to this project until He says it is enough.

May God bless each and every one of you for all your support, encouragement, and kindness to us over these many years! Please keep us in your prayers as we press forward to follow Jesus. My greatest desire is to be faithful to Him.
