Good-bye, Brian

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Revelation 21:4
(KJV)

With tears and a broken heart, I bring the sad news that my nephew, Brian has passed away.
How grateful we are for every prayer you have prayed, every email, every comment, and every gesture of kindness you have extended to our family during this time.  This is not the outcome we hoped and prayed for, but God had other plans.

Good-bye, my dear nephew.  I will never, ever forget you, the happy and fun times we had together growing up, your mischevous nature, and the way you could always make us all laugh.  We will surely miss you, and you will forever and ever remain in our hearts.

This song is of great comfort to me right now.  I hope it will bless you, too.

  3. Heavenly Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider, You are El Shaddai, our all-sufficient Heavenly Father, our Abba Daddy, You are everything we need. We ask you to wrap Your Loving Arms around Cheryl and her loved ones in the homegoing of dear Brian. You are close to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit. We know You respond to our sighs, our tears and our murmurs. We know You are near to all who call upon You; so near that You can feel breath when no voice can be heard for faintness. You are Jehovah Ra’ah, You are our Shepherd, we lack nothing. You make us lie down in green pastures, You lead us beside the still waters. You restore our souls. You lead us in the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, for You are with us. You are Emmanuel, God with us. You will never leave us or forsake us. Your rod and Your Staff, your Holy Spirit and Your Word, they comfort us. You prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies. You anoint our heads with oil, overflowing with blessings. Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

  8. My heart breaks with yours Cheryl... nothing can take away the loss and pain here on earth... praying that somehow the Lord sends comfort to your hearts, and for your sister. I will continue in prayer for you and for your sister and her family, that the Lord would surround all of you with His presence in a special and beautiful way. Beautiful song you shared... thankful that in the midst of the sorrow here on earth, we can stand on the promises of the Lord, His truth we can stand on. With much love to you dear friend!

    1. Thank you so much for helping to carry my burdens so many, many times, dear friend. Yes, praise God, we can stand on God's eternal truth no matter what else crumbles around us in this life. I can't believe Brian is gone. It is just starting to sink in, and it is just so overwhelming. Of all of us kids who grew up together, there are now three in eternity. It sure makes me see my own mortality even more than I normally do. Trusting God to comfort my dear sister and heal all of our broken hearts. He is our only hope. Sending much love back to you tonight!
