Update on Brian 6/24/2020

"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief."
Isaiah 53:3

Thank you all for your precious emails, faithfulness to pray, and for all you do to show your love and support to my family and me.  It truly means more to us than we can put into words.

This update is written through much sadness and pain of heart.  I just wanted to let you all know that a decision will need to be made very soon as to whether or not Brian should be removed from life support.  Though he is able to breathe partially on his own, there are no other signs of improvement.  The doctor told my sister yesterday that they cannot continue to leave him on the respirator.  She and Brian's adult children are in very much need of wisdom and discernment as to what should be done.  It is very difficult to make such a weighty decisions from a place of such grief and emotional distress.  May God's will be done and revealed in this, as in all things.

I am asking you to pray for my sister, Sharon (Brian's mother).  Much of this lies upon her shoulders, she is not in good health, and the thought of losing one of her kids is almost more than she can bear.  Please pray for her to have strength to get through whatever is ahead and for God to give her wisdom as to what to do and when to do it.  Please also pray for Brian's children, his siblings, and all of our family during this difficult time.

Your prayers are a Divine gift to all of us, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

  4. Oh my dear sweet Cheryl, my heart just breaks for your family. We had to make the same decision with my own dear Mom and it's SO HARD. I have been and will continue to pray for Sharon and Brian's children as well as for Brian. May God give everyone peace with the decision they make. May the God of all comfort be with them and bless each one.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

    1. Oh, Betsy! That must have been so hard for you when your dear Mom went through that, and she was SO young. We faced this with my dear Dad in 2000 and my sweet Mom in 2012. SO much heartache. We so appreciate your compassion, kind words, and prayers. Love and blessings back to you!
