Please Share Words of Encouragement Here!

"Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification."
Romans 15:2

Who would have ever dreamed that we would all be homebound while our church seats are empty?  That we would be advised to stay in and remain "socially distanced" from our brothers and sisters in Christ?  So many are feeling the loss of not being able to assemble together with friends, family, and loved ones because we all draw so much strength from one another and need the encouragement that comes from unified worship and fellowship.

So, what is the next best thing?

My sweet friend, Mary wrote to me yesterday with an amazing idea.  She suggested that we share encouragement during these troubled times on this Homespun Devotions platform, and I couldn't agree more!  We may not be able to gather together under one roof, but we can form a "congregation" of strong faith and encouragement right here!  We may be miles apart but close and inseperable in heart as we ALL lift our eyes individually, yet collectively, to "the hills from whence cometh our help!"  Psalm 121:1

Are you being adversely affected by the coronavirus?  How has it impacted your life?  Has God victoriously brought you through extenuating circumstances to the other side?  How are you coping during this time of upheaval and worldwide fear?  What practical, faith-filled tips can you give us that will better equip us to carry on through such difficult days?

We would love to hear from you!

To all of my many blogging friends!  I am in touch with many of you through regular email exchanges, and I know how amazing your stories and testimonies are!  Will you please help me build a community of encouragement here?  What is God teaching you through the COVID- 19 pandemic?  We need to hear what He is laying on your heart!

To the countless faith bloggers I have never "met" or corresponded with, I would love to change that, hear from you, and share your amazing writing here!

To all the faithful Homespun Devotions readers—how are you holding up?  How is God encouraging you right now?  Do you have a special "God moment" story to share with the world?  This blog is open and ready to provide a platform for you to do that!

Email us your stories, testimonies, answers to prayer, miracles, and lessons God is teaching to ~ homespundevotions@gmail.com.

People are feeling downright desperate, isolated, and lonely.  Our world is in a state of fear and sadness.  Yet, you and I hold within our grasp the key to deep, settled peace, even in such anguished times.

It is important that we remind ourselves that we are not alone, that we encourage one another, that we build one another up, that we shine a spotlight on faith, and that we tell each other and those who do not know Jesus how GOD is helping us through.

Do you have something encouraging to say, but nowhere to talk about it?
Someone needs to hear what God is leading you to say.
Please prayerfully consider sharing your heart here!

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."
Jude 1:20,21

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony."
Revelation 12:11

"They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.  So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved."
Isaiah 41:6,7

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
Proverbs 27:17

"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep."
Romans 12:15

"Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; He will come and save you."
Isaiah 35:4

"Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing."
I Thessalonians 5:11

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
Hebrews 3:13

We hope to hear from you soon!
God bless and comfort every person who reads these words.
I am praying for you!
This is one of Zach's and my favorite songs.
I hope it encourages you!

  1. Ahhh, what a wonderful idea Cheryl, and I should have known you would be thinking of others and how to encourage and lift them up. I am spending hours in prayer daily and although I wake up multiple times in the night, I'm always praying when I wake up and then fall back to sleep talking with the Lord. It gives me such peace. It's like I never stopped praying while sleeping. I guess that's my encouragement to everyone today. Keep talking with the Lord. It gives such comfort and PEACE in your soul. God is SO good. I'm looking forward to reading the words people write here and appreciate each and every verse that you shared with us today.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Oh, bless your dear heart! You are one of the most powerful, faithful prayer warriors I know, and I cannot even put into words how much it means to know that my family's and my names are included in those precious prayers. I know exactly what you mean about falling asleep praying and then picking it right back up as soon as I wake up. Sometimes I don't hardly know when I stop and when I start praying because it seems to be an ongoing dialog throughout the day. SO thankful we have Jesus to turn to in these troubling times and also that we have each other to lean on for prayer support and agreement. Much love and many blessings to you today, sweet friend!

  2. Cheryl, thank you for offering a safe place to us where we can congregate and encourage one another. I enjoy those that share their stories here and learn so much from them when you put out a corporate call to participate. I love testimonies! Stories of faith and God's leading in all this that's going on is a wonderful idea. I'm working on mine and looking forward to reading everyone else's.

  4. Encouragement is something we can ALL use at this time, Cheryl. Isolation is a terrible place to be, but staying connected via social platforms can go far to bring comfort and peace to lonely, troubled hearts. Thank you for doing this!
    Blessings, and be well!
