Today, I'm Sharing At No Sidebar

"Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness."
  2 Peter 3:11
(KJV)

Today, I am so grateful to be sharing over at No Sidebar about a few nuggets of wisdom my family and I have gleaned while navigating through our minimizing journey.

  1. Wonderful thoughts Cheryl. We are looking at minimizing because of retirement plans in the next few years. I think it’s harder for me. I have family history attached to so many things that we have, and by letting them go means letting the last of the physical memories of my mother and grandmother disappear. Thank you for giving me a lot to think about today.
    Blessings always my sweet friend,
    Betsy

    1. Oh, sweet friend! I can SO relate to all you are feeling. The pain of letting go is real, especially when it comes to the sentimental things that hold so many memories. God is faithful to give wisdom and discernment as to what to keep and what to let go of, and His grace is sufficient in those times of emotional pain. May He bless you and lead you gently always. Sending love and hugs to you today!

  2. Dear Cheryl,
It was so good to read your words describing more of your journey! I loved this: ". When it is time to know more, the guidance will be there. Leaps, when taken in faith, will land you where you need to be." Oh, how often God has shown me that, but how often I need to be reminded! He truly does want to help us walk on the path to peace, and He will bring us through each step. Thank you for the beautiful reminder today, my friend. Blessings on your new website! Love & Hugs to you. xoxo

    1. I am so thankful for your precious words of encouragement, my friend! Your support and kindness is so appreciated. Oh, God surely is so faithful! A friend of ours often says, "God will bring you through if you can stand the pull." Walking a walk of faith is not easy, but we can always depend upon God's ability to see us through to victory. Sending much love and many hugs back to you! Praying for you and Barry faithfully.

  3. Hi Cheryl,

Very insightful post on what you have learned and are still learning during your minimizing journey. The ten items you shared, to me, all point to one take home message. God is our provider and our peace. We need not worry about anything else. He will supply us with all we need in life and relationships.

Thank you so much for sharing your heart.

Sending you much love and gratitude.

    1. Amen, and amen, sweet sister! HE is our all in all. The year 2015 was SUCH a turning point in our lives, as a family. Looking back, we all three marvel at how God worked that year. It was one of the hardest years of our lives, BUT it was also one of the most transforming. One thing that God kept reinforcing to us SO many times in prayer is that He is a jealous God, and HE wants to be our all-in-all. He doesn't want to compete with our own understanding or any of the other crutches we lean on in this life. Praise His name for the lessons...even though they were so painfully learned! I am so thankful for you, your support, encouragement, and friendship through it all. Love and appreciate you dearly and praying for you.

  4. I couldn't find a place to leave a comment on Sidebar.

That was a solid post, sister!

Regardless of who we are or our place in life, your advice is needed, whether a person knows it or not.

It's so easy to fall into the trappings of this flesh.
