URGENT Prayers Needed For Max & Makeya Brown & Updates on Baby Obed & Others

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1

Last night, I received some not-so-good news concerning both Max & Makeya Brown,
and I wanted to ask for earnest prayer for both of them.

I am copying Shyla's words about Makeya, with her permission.

"Went to wake Keya up this morning, and she would not wake up.
We got her up in her chair, squirted water in her face, and, nothing.
 She was unresponsive.

We rushed her over to the hospital where they found the cause.

Her sugar was extremely low. It was 32. Thank you guys for the prayers.
She is now awake asking for chili, the one thing they don't have here at the hospital,
except once a month, and today is not that day.
She is doing really good now and just being monitored.
She is feeling better now."

And Shyla's words concerning Max...

"Please pray for my Max.
They have moved him back to pulmonary ICU.
They have him back on oxygen, and have went back up on pressures,
and are talking about sedating him again.
He is still having a lot of trouble.
 Please pray."

I was later informed that the reason Max was moved back to Pulmonary ICU
is that he has pneumonia and a rhino virus.

Bless their little hearts.
Things seemed to be going so much better for both of them, and now, this!
Prior to this news, I had just heard how they were trying to wean Max off the ventilator
and how well he was doing.

Please, please keep these precious little ones in your constant prayers.
God has brought them so far since their car accident on August 2nd.
I can't even imagine the frustration and sheer exhaustion of these dear parents and grandparents from being on this emotional roller coaster for over four months now.

The trial has been long and beyond difficult, and this family really needs our prayers,
now more than ever.
Let us not forget that they are facing their first Christmas without little 5 year old Quinton,
who was carried by angels to Heaven from the scene of the accident.
They have lost Quinton and are now coping with the aftermath
and adjusting to their new "normal" which includes caring for not one, but two paralyzed children,
ages two and six.

Their pain, mental anguish, and daily suffering is truly incomprehensible.
May God have mercy and continue to hold them close to His heart.

Truly, the eternal God is their Refuge, and underneath are His everlasting arms.
(Deuteronomy 33:27)

Baby Obed is home from the hospital, but still in much need of prayer, also.

Here is the latest update from his Daddy, Travis.

"Karissa and Obed came home from the hospital on Thursday (Dec 4th).
Each night we have to hook his feeding tube up to the pump around 5pm.
Throughout the night, we have to switch the bag of milk/formula (approx 3or4 times) before disconnecting it around 7am.

I’m glad to report he has gained a whole pound (16 oz) since he was admitted to the hospital on Nov 26th. He currently weighs 10 lbs. 4.73 oz!

His next cardiologist appointment is on the 16th. "

Wonderful news to know Obed is home and being cared for by his loving parents.

Please continue to pray that he will continue to gain weight,
that he will not have to undergo surgery,
and for strength and peace for Travis, Karissa and other family members.

I know they must be so exhausted from the fight and constant worry
they have been dealing with for so long.

Also, please keep Connie Flanders in your prayers, as she is to undergo surgery this coming Friday,

Jimmy Neff, as his condition is continuing to decline,

and Lauren Hill, as she is now under Hospice care.

On a happier note, little 5 year old Taylor McGinnis is improving, all glory be to God!

Please keep all of these dear ones on your heart and continue to earnestly pray!

God bless you for helping to bear the burdens of others,
and may He meet every need you have, also.
God is with you, my friend.
He will never leave you alone.

  1. Wow! The emotions after reading all of this. I am glad that they found out Makeya problem. Poor little Max. I will be praying for him and the family. Have you heard who is helping with their baby, Neveya? I know the parents are so busy with the Max and Makeya. Little Obed looks so precious. I will continue to pray for him. Sorry to hear about Jimmy. I will pray for his peace and comfort. Seeing the picture of Lauren just breaks my heart. The anguish people are going through right now overwhelms me with grief as I try to imagine their pain. Dear Lord help them. Thanks for adding Connie and Taylor. I pray they will continue to recover.
My link up is working now.
    Love you!

  2. So many needs! I will keep praying!

  4. Praying for all these needs from TX.

    1. Thank you ever so much, Alyssa! God bless you with a Merry Christmas!!

  5. Adding to my prayer list. And, reminding myself that sometimes setbacks are not reversals. God is still on that throne of His, still orchestrating His perfect will. Healing will come to all of these dear people. Of course, we pray that we see it here, in this life. But if not, God will treat them with the eternal healing of His salvation and the promise of a resurrected body.

    1. Yes, dear friend, you are so right. I just have this overpowering desire to go around and SEE them just rise up out of their sickness, and be healed...HERE. To watch their loved ones raise eyes and hands Heavenward and give God praise for their miracle! To see the demonstrations of Jesus' healing power. I know, however, that this is not always His will. Sometimes, it is just time for a person to be called to their eternal home and receive that permanent healing, as you said. Thank you for your words! They are always so edifying! You are a consistent source of encouragement to me, and I can't thank you enough. Love you, sweet friend. :)

  6. Oh, such a sad update...will continue to pray. How hard this must be for the family. Hope your finger is healing up well. Blessings, sweet friend.♥

    1. Thank you so very, very much!! Yes, this is a very sad update. I long to proclaim about miracles and healing and brighter days for these dear, precious people I love so much! I know God is in control, and He is working in ways that we do not see. As for my finger....things are progressing, praise God. One day it looks great, then sometimes the next day, it is not so good, but all-in-all, healing is happening. It just takes time, and I am so short on patience. I want to be able to do more, but God is teaching me in this trial. I suppose the lessons outweigh the frustrations! Much love to you and your sweet Katie and husband, too. Merry Christmas!!

  7. I will pray too! I have a son with chronic health issues. I totally understand how hard these situations are. God DOES makes miracle happen, believe me....Our story is here and it will make anyone a believer in Him!
There have been so many times when I could have used this prayer. You all are wonderful and I know all of your prayers are helping!
